SFA overcomes 3-1 deficit to stun Ragin’ Cajuns
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana was unable to capitalize on a mid-match surge, falling in seven sets to Stephen. F Austin on a chilly Sunday afternoon at Cajun Courts.
Despite dropping the doubles point, the Ragin' Cajuns claimed singles wins on Courts 4,5 and 6 to go ahead 3-1 before dropping the final three points of the match, the last two in three sets.
Angel Santiago was the only Cajun to emerge victorious in both doubles and singles. Santiago and Catarina Zheng took down Kyah Kauders and Paula Cerda in doubles, 6-3, before she claimed a 7-5, 6-2, victory over Zala Ule on Court 6.
Momoko Yoshimura (6-2, 7-6 (7-3)) and Tanisha Kashyap (6-3, 6-0) also claimed victories in singles play.
Louisiana returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 12, when it takes on Southern at Cajun Courts. The match is currently slated to begin at Noon.
