Winning Ways Continue as Men's Tennis Storms Back to Defeat Rice

For the second straight day, Louisiana picks up a quality win in Houston
HOUSTON - A win streak continued for the Louisiana Men's Tennis team (5-1) while one ended for the host-Rice Owls (4-2) as visiting Ragin' Cajuns closed the day with four consecutive singles victories to grab a 4-3 win on Sunday, Feb. 6 at the George R. Brown Tennis Center on the campus of Rice University.
Louisiana picked up its fourth consecutive victory - a streak which began with a two-match homestand sweep the last weekend in January - after singles victories on Courts 1-4 allowed the visitors to overcome a 3-0 match deficit.
Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez, Karlo Kajin, Oriol Fillat Gimenez, and Kacper Dworak all came away victorious in succession as the Ragin' Cajuns snapped the Owls' four-match winning streak.
Dworak's ability to overcome a first-set loss made the difference for Louisiana who followed up Saturday's impressive 4-1 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with an equally impressive one against Rice. After evening up his game with Adam Oscislawski with a 7-5 triumph, Dworak raced out to a 4-0 lead before clinching the match for the Ragin' Cajuns.
Kajin and Fillat Gimenez were each extended to a third set, but with resounding efforts put away their competitors to set up Dworak's heroics. Fillat Gimenez, who extended his personal win streak to three games, handed Rice's Emir Sendogan his first loss in dual match play this spring.
