Ragin' Cajuns scheduled to compete back-to-back days starting on Friday, Feb. 11
LUBBOCK, Texas - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Tennis team (5-1) seeks to continue its winning streak from Friday-Saturday, Feb. 11-12 as they gear up to face Texas Tech (4-3) and New Mexico State (2-4) at the McLeod Tennis Center on the TTU campus.
Louisiana enters the weekend riding a four-match win streak that was extended back on Feb. 5-6 with quality wins over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Rice in Houston at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
First up is the match with Texas Tech at 11 a.m. on Friday (Feb. 11), followed by the meeting with New Mexico State at Noon on Saturday (Feb. 12). The pairing of matches with the Red Raiders and Aggies marks the second straight weekend that Louisiana plays on the road in the state of Texas on February, continuing a series of matches that keeps the squad away from Cajun Courts until March.

Louisiana is led by reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week Karlo Kajin who is off to a 3-1 start at No. 1 singles in the Spring 2022 dual match season after a nine-win season in 2021. He's combined with Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez for a 3-2 mark at No. 1 doubles.
Kajin posted a dominant 6-1 win in the third set last Sunday at Rice, handing Haoyuan Huang his first loss of the season at No. 1 singles.
Sanchez Gonzalez, Kajin, Oriol Fillat Gimenez and Kacper Dworak all came away victorious in succession as the Ragin' Cajuns stormed back from a 3-0 deficit to snap the Owls' four-match winning streak.
The Ragin' Cajuns are 21-10 as a group in singles play this season, with Dworak (4-1), Fillat Gimenez (4-1) and Vasil Dimitrov (4-2) combining with Kajin to lead the charge. Dworak and Fillat Gimenez each carry a three-game win streak into the weekend's matches in Lubbock.
Texas Tech is back at home for the first time in nearly a month and is coming off a 4-0 setback Sunday at Utah. The Red Raiders are 22-13 in singles play, led by five wins from Dimitrios Azoidis.
NMSU, which plays Texas Tech later in the day on Friday, is seeking to put an end to a four-match losing skid. Jordy Visser and Louis Menard have given NM State a solid option in top-flight doubles play through their six dual matches in 2022. That tandem boasts a mark of 3-2 and they have produced all but two of the team's doubles victories.
