Louisiana Track and Field Set For Bayou Bengal

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Track and Field continues the 2022 campaign at 9:30 a.m. Friday it travels to Baton Rouge, La. to compete in the Bayou Bengal.
Louisiana will be joined by 13 other programs including host school LSU.
Led by senior Sophie Daigle, the Ragin' Cajuns have had several standout performers that are looking to build upon their in the early season.
Daigle set a new program-best marks of 9:58.51 in the 3k and 4:58.02 in the mile just two weeks after resetting the Louisiana record book with the top time (16:58.55) in the 5k.
Freshman Cammi Martinez has excelled in the pole vault through three meets, the freshman has earned a pair of top-three finishes.
On the men's side, junior Matthew Standrbridge is looking to repeat his first-place performance at the McNeese Invitational a week ago, while freshman Joe Patterson is aiming to continue his recent success in the 800m. Patterson notched a second-place result at the FasTrak Collegiate Challenge on Jan. 22 and a first-place finish in Lake Charles a week ago.
In total, Louisiana will enter 63 competitors into Friday's meet.
