Santiago Wins Twice at Ragin' Cajuns Invitational

Saturday action begins at 9:30 a.m.

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana's Angel Santiago picked up a pair of straight-set, singles victories to pace action during the opening day of the 2022 Ragin' Cajuns Invitational on Friday at Cajun Courts.
 
The final day of the two-day event will begin at 9:30 a.m. Louisiana, playing in its final event of the fall season, is joined in the field by McNeese, New Orleans, Southern Miss, Tulane and ULM.
 
Admission is free with free general admission parking available at the Lite Center, CGI lot, the University Print Shop, Bourgeois Park/Intramural Fields, the Cabbage Patch and Blackham Coliseum.
 
Santiago opened the day for Louisiana with a 6-2, 6-3 win over ULM's Mackenzie King before posting a 6-3, 6-1 win over Natalia Ballo of McNeese. Carla Urchoeguia opened with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Aina Domingo-Bernabeu.
 
Louisiana picked up a pair of wins in doubles play as Lucie Raquin and Momoko Yoshimura earned a 7-6 (6) win over UNO's Didi Bredberg Canizares and Raluca Puscas while the team of Urchoeguia and Angelique Berrat defeated UNO's Laurie Barendse and Tristanne Dechoux, 6-3.
