Louisiana Moves Up One Spot at Jim Rivers Intercollegiate

Hinnant posts 4-under 68; Flynn, Weber record even-par 72
CHOUDRANT – Peter Hinnant recorded a 4-under-par 68 to move into a tie for 15th place and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf Team moved up one spot to 12th place overall after the second day of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate on Monday at Squire Creek Golf Club.
Charlie Flynn and Matt Weber each posted scores of even-par 72 as Louisiana recorded a team score of 287 to finish at 581 after 36 holes.
The final round of the 54-hole tournament will begin on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. Louisiana, playing the first of 12 scheduled events during the 2021-22 season, will be paired with Troy, Lamar and UT Arlington in the final round.

Hinnant, who shot a 2-over 74 in Sunday's opening round, had his only blemish of the day with a double bogey at the par-5, 528-yard No. 2. Hinnant would record birdies on four of his final seven holes on the front nine before posting birdies on the back nine at No. 11 and 17.
Flynn recorded his second round of par or below in as many days for Louisiana after going 1-under 35 on the back nine. Flynn finished the second day in a tie for 18th place at 1-under 143 while Weber matched his career-low round for the Ragin' Cajuns.
Freshman Eli Ortego recorded a 3-over 75 for Louisiana with Hunter Hammett posting a 4-over 76. Jake Marler, competing individually, recorded a round of 3-over 75.
UTSA soared up the leaderboard, posting a team score of 16-under 272 to move up six spots and claim the overall lead after 36 holes. The Roadrunners, who finished at 562 after the second round, held a three-stroke lead over Louisiana Tech with LSU (566), Little Rock (567) and Southern Miss (569) rounding out the top five.
Louisiana Tech's Sam Murphy recorded his second consecutive round of 4-under 68 to move into the individual lead at 8-under 136 and one stroke ahead of Southern Miss' Hunter Atkins.
