Louisiana Golf Trio Repeats As GCAA All-America Scholars

Dubinski, Gudjonsson, Hammett honored for excellence on course, classroom
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf trio of Hudson Dubinski, Bjorn Gudjonsson and Hunter Hammett were repeat members on the Srixon/Cleveland Golf NCAA Division I All-American Scholars team, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA.

In addition, they must have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. For 2019-20 only, they must participate in 40 percent of the team's competitive rounds.

Dubinski, a junior, played in seven events during the 2020-21 season, posting a 73.43 scoring average with a pair of top-10 finishes. His best finish came at the 36th annual Louisiana Classics where he finished ninth overall (70-71-74-215). Dubinski added a 13th-place finish at the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational and was 16th overall at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic.

Gudjonsson, who concluded his career in 2021, recorded a 74.17 scoring average in eight events for Louisiana with a pair of top-20 performances. The Mosfellsbaer, Iceland native notched a 73.33 scoring average during the spring portion of the Ragin' Cajuns schedule and finished 13th overall at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.

Hammett recorded a 75.88 scoring average in 24 rounds of play for Louisiana and posted a pair of top-20 finishes during the season. The Hattiesburg, Miss., native led Louisiana during the fall with a 71.33 average, which was highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the Little Rock Invitational. Â
