Darkness Suspends Play for Ragin' Cajuns at Border Olympics

Flynn in third-place tie at 2-under; 16 teams to compete second round Tuesday

LAREDO, Texas – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team sat in a tie for eighth place with No. 13-ranked Baylor in the second round of the Border Olympics before play was suspended due to darkness on Monday at the Laredo Country Club.
 
Louisiana recorded a score of 7-over 295 in the opening round before standing at 19-over par when play was halted. Sixteen of the 18 teams, along with 85 golfers in the 95-player field, will resume second round action on Tuesday at 8 a.m., before the third round follows immediately after.

Charlie Flynn carded a 1-under-par 71 in the opening round and was at 1-under after 16 holes in the second. Peter Hinnant posted an even-par 72 for Louisiana in the opening round with Hunter Hammett and Cole Kendrick each posting scores of 4-over 76.
 
No. 26-ranked Texas A&M finished with a team score of 4-over par to build a two-stroke lead over No. 9 Texas when play was suspended. Individually, Texas A&M's Sam Bennett and Texas' Hunter Ostrom were tied atop the individual leaderboard and 4-under par overall with Flynn and Texas A&M's Dan Erickson tied for third at -2.
