Louisiana Volleyball has the home court advantage as Sun Belt Tournament seeds are finalized
LAFAYETTE – The regular season comes to a close and Louisiana Volleyball celebrates Senior Weekend at Earl K. Long Gym from Friday-Saturday, Nov. 12-13 with Sun Belt Conference matches against UT Arlington and Texas State.
Louisiana (14-8, 9-5 Sun Belt) will hold its Senior Night ceremony prior to the matchup with the UT Arlington (9-14, 7-7 Sun Belt) on Friday, then faces Texas State (16-11, 12-2 Sun Belt) in the regular season finale on Saturday.
Both matches are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
Admission is FREE. Earl K. Long Gym has returned to 100 percent capacity for the 2021 season (face coverings are required). Fans should park in the lot located on the corner of East St. Mary Boulevard and
Girard Park Circle (entrance located on Girard Park Circle).
The weekend set continues the regular season-ending, three-match homestand for the Ragin' Cajuns that began last Saturday (Nov. 6) with a straights set sweep of ULM which kept the squad undefeated (8-0) against Sun Belt West Division foes and in position to claim the SBC West's No. 2 seed.
Louisiana needs only one win to claim the No. 2 seed from the SBC West which guarantees a bye from first round play at the upcoming Nov. 18-21 Sun Tournament in Foley, Ala.
In the past two matches the Ragin' Cajuns have recaptured the high level of play that resulted in the five-match win streak during the first round of SBC West play in October. Louisiana is coming off back-to-back, low-error performances that featured 40-plus kills and only nine errors in sweeps of Little Rock and ULM.
A live stream of both contests is available on ESPN+ with Louisiana Sports Hall of Famer Dan McDonald providing play-by-play commentary. Live stats can be accessed at CajunStats.com.
