Mountaineers turn tight opening-set win into straight-sets victory in series finale
BOONE, N.C. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball team's bid for a series sweep in the High Country slipped away on Saturday, October 24 as App State seized momentum with an extra-point victory in the opening set and carried it to a 3-0 (26-24, 25-8, 25-16) win at Holmes Convocation Center in Boone, North Carolina.
The Ragin' Cajuns (11-12, 6-4 SBC) finished their four-match road trip 2-2, missing an opportunity for a winning mark. The Mountaineers (15-9, 8-2 SBC) evened the all-time series at 10-all.
Louisiana was held to a season-low .096 hitting percentage, finishing below .100 in each of the final two sets as App State pulled away. The Mountaineers hit .333 and held advantages of 6-2 in service aces and 7-2 in blocks.
