Boudreaux, Salsbury lead Louisiana Cross Country at Sun Belt Championships

Mobile, Ala. – Freshmen Haley Salsbury and Louden Boudreaux paced Louisiana Cross Country at the Sun Belt Championships in Mobile, Ala. on Friday morning.
Boudreaux raced across the line in 41st with a time of 26:59.0 while Salsbury came in 44th (19:31.7).Â

In the final meet of the 2021 season, the Louisiana men took ninth overall with 248 points while the women finished in 11th with 288.
Â
Arkansas State, the defending conference champions on the women's side claimed the team titles in both the 6k and 8k.
Â
The Redwolves' women were followed by App State and UT-Arlington while the men sat atop the mountaineers and last year's team champion and meet host South Alabama.

Sophomore Samuel Avants (27:35.3) finished second for the Ragin' Cajuns in 48th place while freshmen Peyton Chiasson (27:51.1) and Jacob Marcinkus (28:09.7) claimed 50th and 53rd, respectively.

Freshmen Abbey Marie Ratcliff (19:47.2) tailed her Louisiana counterpart across the line in 49th, with sophomore Meredith Hebert (20:17.9) and freshman Pierra Charles (20:59.8) finishing 57th and 67th place, respectively.
Arkansas State senior Pauline Meyer set a course record in the race, finishing first with a time of 16:51.5. Meyer finished second in the 2019 and 2020 championships.
