LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Men's Tennis has added Rob Raines to its coaching staff, head coach Mark Jeffrey announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Raines is coming from top-25 ranked Cornell University, where he spent the last two seasons as a volunteer assistant. He played a key role in helping Cornell reach an ITA ranking of 16, its second highest in program history, and was pivotal in helping the Big Red claim an ECAC Tournament crown, the biggest tournament of the Ivy League season.

Prior to spending time at Cornell, Raines attended Baylor University, where he had a role with both the men's and women's tennis programs as a hitting partner, stringer and lead instructor for summer camps.

During his time as an undergraduate, Raines also served as a primary instructor for 254 Tennis, an after-school program that included players from all over Central Texas. Raines also coached at one of the premier tennis clubs in Texas, developing many of the top juniors in the area.

Raines originally hails from Fort, Worth, Texas and was a top junior player in the state prior to college.
