Two Ragin’ Cajuns to Play in CSBI Tournament Televised on ESPN 2 Thursday Night

LAFAYETTE - Catcher Julian Brock and incoming right-handed pitcher Spencer Arrighetti are slated to participate in the Collegiate Summer Baseball Invitational (CSBI), which will be aired on ESPN2 on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. Brock and Arrighetti will be CSBI teammates on the Liberty and will play in game one of the event.
Brock and Arrighetti are joining close to 100 college baseball players this weekend for the CSBI. The three-day event will be broadcast on ESPN2 on Thursday night and through a Pay-Per-View and Video on Demand subscription ($39.95) and includes the remainder of the six-game tournament.
During his first season at Louisiana, Brock earned nine starts and hit for a .243 average, which included a three-hit game against Virginia Tech.
Arrighetti is an incoming sophomore who spent last season at Navarro Junior College and his freshman season at TCU.
"Spencer was a guy that we recruited out of high school in Texas, but chose to go to TCU," Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Jeremy Talbot said about Spencer after he was signed in the fall. "He will come to us a 4-2-4 transfer out of Navarro JC and we are enthusiastic about his arrival. He's an athletic rangy body type whose FB operates 90-93 with a short late slider, and good change-up. He will be a guy who has a chance to play through us and on to professional baseball."
