LAFAYETTE - The Louisiana Women's Tennis team improved its overall record to 5-0 after beating Northwestern State, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon at Cajun Courts.
The Ragin' Cajuns took home the doubles point thanks to the pairings of Floriane Picaut and Dana Radovanovic and Lucie Raquin and Marina Rodriguez Garcia. Following doubles, there was a brief rain delay before Louisiana singles play started up.
Picaut continued her early-season dominance beating Mariella Minetti, 6-2, 6-4. Picaut was the first to exit the court and hasn't lost a match all season improving her singles record to 5-0.
Mariona Perez Noguera was the second Ragin' Cajun to exit the court after beating Ela Iwaniuk, 6-0, 6-4, on a lofty backhand which landed just inside of the baseline.
Dana Radovanovic clinched the match for Louisiana edging out Olivia Alfredsson, 6-3, 7-5. Radovanovic's teammates rushed over to embrace her after she muscled a forehand over the net to seal the match for Louisiana.
