Men’s Tennis Falls to Utah State

LOGAN, Utah – The Ragin' Cajuns Men's Tennis team was beaten by Utah State on Monday afternoon by a final score of 4-3. Louisiana falls to 11-3 and Utah State improves to 2-6.
Utah State took the first two doubles matches to earn the first point of the match and get a 1-0 lead over Louisiana. In singles play, Utah State started by winning the first two matches, increasing the lead to 3-0.
Reigning Sun Belt Conference Male Tennis Athlete of the Week, Jan Galka continued his strong play by beating Felipe Acosta, 6-0, 7-5. Galka's victory cut the lead to 3-1 in favor of Utah State. Utah State then won the next singles match, clinching the win for the Aggies.
Also claiming singles wins for the Ragin' Cajuns were Karlo Kajin and Pierce Gilheany. Both won in straight sets; Kajin over Roko Savin, 6-2, 6-1 and Gilheany over Christian Holmes, 7-6, 7-6.
Louisiana Men's Tennis returns to play on Saturday, Feb. 29 when it hosts William Carey at Cajun Courts. The two schools are scheduled for a doubleheader with the matches set for 10 a.m and 2 p.m.
