Ragin’ Cajuns Beat Boise State, 5-2

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Men's Tennis fought past Boise State on Saturday afternoon beating the Broncos by a final score of 5-2. The Ragin' Cajuns third straight win improves their record to 11-2 on the year and Boise falls to 6-4.
Boise St. won the doubles point to start the match with a 1-0 lead. Louisiana then lost the first singles match to fall down 2-0 to the Broncos.
For the first Louisiana point of the match, Jan Galka defeated Boise's Kyryll Kryvchun in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4. Tying the match at an even 2-2 was Pierce Gilheany for Louisiana, when he beat Mark Papadopoulos 6-4, 7-6.
Grabbing the third point for the Ragin' Cajuns and their first lead of the match was Ivailo Keremedchiev as he took down Blake Bayldon 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Claiming the fourth point for Louisiana and officially clinching the win was Kacper Dworak as he won 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2 in a tough one against Wyatt DeMulling. Also winning his match for Louisiana was Karlo Kajin, defeating Boise's Michael Bott.
The match is Louisiana's third consecutive win and its 11th of the year. The Ragin' Cajuns return to action on Monday, Feb. 24 when they continue their short road trip against Utah State. That match is scheduled for a 12 p.m. start.
