Louisiana Set for Saturday Battle Against Georgia Southern

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana wraps up a long homestand on Saturday, Feb. 15, when Georgia Southern comes to the Cajundome for the annual Pink Game. Tipoff for the contest is slated for 2 p.m.

The Ragin' Cajuns (13-10, 6-6 SBC) are looking to snap a four-game losing streak, including a 61-53 loss in their last outing on Thursday night against Georgia State. Three different players scored in double figures against the Panthers, led by a 12-point performance from Jomyra Mathis.

Through 23 games this season, Ty'Reona Doucet continues to pace Louisiana on the scoresheet with 12.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest. Sophomore Brandi Williams ranks second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.9 points a game.

Georgia Southern (8-15, 5-7 SBC) heads to the Cajundome riding a two-game winning streak and picked up a victory in its most recent outing with a 72-66 victory over ULM on Thursday night. Jaiden Hamilton led the Eagles in double figures with 17 points.

Tatum Barber leads the Eagles in scoring with 11.2 points per contest, while Alexis Brown is right on her heels at 11.0.

Louisiana and Georgia Southern last played on Jan. 4, a game in which the Eagles won in Statesboro, 83-67. Despite the loss, the Ragin' Cajuns still lead the all-time series, 8-3, and own a 4-1 record in Lafayette.
