RALLY POINTS
- In a season of firsts, which included a national ranking and reaching double-digit conference wins a second straight season for the first time, the chase for the ultimate prize for has arrived – the Sun Belt Tournament. If Louisiana is to add another "first", they'll need to pass a pair of pool play tests prior to the knockout round competition for the tournament trophy.
- In its Sun Belt Tournament opener Louisiana faces a familiar foe: Little Rock. It'll be the fourth matchup this fall between the two SBC West schools. The Ragin' Cajuns posted a three-match series sweep of the Trojans in Little Rock back on September 25-26.
- The Ragin' Cajuns and Georgia State meet for the first time this season, a by-product of the Sun Belt Conference utilizing a division-only schedule during the regular season.
- Louisiana enjoyed a 10-day break prior to the start of this week's play in Foley. It was much needed rest after playing 11 matches over a 23-day span to end the regular season. Three weekends during the stretch the team played three matches in a 28-plus hour timespan.
- Hali Wisnoskie is one of only five (5) active players in NCAA Division I Volleyball with 1,300-plus career kills (currently ranks No. 3 with 1,324 career kills). Only Baylor's Yossiana Pressley (1,704) and LSU's Taylor Bannister (1,363) have scored more.
- The regular season-ending series at UT Arlington saw the resurgence of the potent attack of outside hitters Hali Wisnoskie and Kelsey Bennett who combined to generate 101 kills (7.8 per set). Earlier in SBC play at Little Rock the duo piled up 105 kills.
- Louisiana has shown that it isn't reliant upon one or two individuals for its offensive production. There were SBC series where a different player led the team in kills each match, and many instances where at least four players scored five or more kills.
- Kelsey Bennett can impact a match both on offense and defense as evidenced by her landing a second straight 200-200 season of kills and digs (now 500-500 for her career). This season she owns 13 efforts of double-digit kills and 16 double-digit dig totals.
- Hannah Ramirez has scooped double-digit digs every match. The result is a second straight 400-digs season, and her streak reaching double digits extended to 34 straight matches.
