Ragin’ Cajuns Make a Stop in Monroe for Next Sun Belt Series

Now receiving votes in AVCA Fall Top 15 poll, Louisiana Volleyball aims to keep building momentum
MONROE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball team plays its lone road matches for the month of October facing Sun Belt travel partner ULM in a two-match conference series Friday-Saturday, Oct. 2-3 at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
Louisiana (9-0, 3-0 Sun Belt) takes the court against the Warhawks (1-5, 0-3 Sun Belt) at 6 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
It's the first of a home-and-home series between the two foes, as ULM is scheduled to visit Earl K. Long Gym Oct. 30-31.
The Ragin' Cajuns opened Sun Belt Conference play last weekend in Little Rock, collecting a three-match sweep of the Trojans to keep the team's undefeated start to the season intact.

- ULM is in its second season under the under the guidance of head coach Charlie Olson. After experiencing coaching changes in 2018 and 2019, Olson provides stability for the Warhawks program.
- ULM opened the 2020 season at the SFA Invitational in Nacogdoches, Texas Sept. 11-12, knocking off Lamar in the season opener. The squad has lost five straight since, including being swept at Texas State in a three-match Sun Belt series last weekend.
- Haley Coulter is the top point producer for the Warhawks averaging 2.74 kills per set and the leader in digs at 4.21 per set. Setters McKinley Thiede and Karson Davis have teamed to run the 6-2 attack, combining to average eight-plus assists per set.

RALLY POINTS
- At 9-0, the 2020 edition of the Ragin' Cajuns are off to the third-best start in program history. The mark is surpassed only by the 2014 team which won its first 10 matches and the 1990 team which won a record 13 consecutive to start the season.
- The Ragin' Cajuns have held a 2-0 lead in all but one match. Entering the ULM series, the squad has enjoyed the advantage in seven consecutive matches.
- One of the top point producers in recent Sun Belt history, Hali Wisnoskie has reached another level in her senior campaign. She's posted at least 18 kills five times, including a career-high 27 last Friday at Little Rock, and is averaging 5.03 kills per set.
- Outside hitters Hali Wisnoskie and Kelsey Bennett both tallied double digit kills in each match of the Sun Belt-opening weekend at Little Rock and together combined for 105 kills (Wisnoskie - 57 kills; Bennett - 48 kills).
- Kelsey Bennett has posted a double-double of kills and digs in four of the last five matches. During the streak she has posted 70 kills (4.1/set) and 65 digs (3.8/set).
- Senior setter Avery Breaux leads the Sun Belt Conference with three 40-plus assist efforts in three-set matches. For the season, Breaux averages 12.3 assists per set and has steered Louisiana to 14.9 kills per set on a .295 hitting percentage.
- Hannah Ramirez has rounded up double-digit digs in 21 straight matches since last Oct. 11. She averaged five-plus digs per set in three of the first four weekends.
- Taylor Gates has claimed the Sun Belt Freshman of the Week award three straight weeks. She's increased her production each week, and is coming off her first collegiate weekend with 20 kills (exactly 20 at Little Rock).
