Parking for Upcoming Virginia Tech Baseball Series During Mardi Gras Festivities
1/19/2020 3:34:00 PM | Baseball
LAFAYETTE - With Mardi Gras and the baseball season rapidly approaching, parking will be altered for the upcoming weekend series against Virginia Tech (Feb. 21-Feb. 23).
Â
Tent setup in the Cajun Field parking lots will begin on Feb. 15, which will affect the opening weekend games on Feb. 15 and 16 against Louisiana Tech as well as the midweek match up on Feb. 19 against Tulane. Baseball fans are encouraged to enter parking lots on those game dates, using caution around Mardi Gras tent setup.Â
Â
For the Virginia Tech series, fans are encouraged to check parade times as Bertrand Drive and Reinhardt Drive will be closed when parades are rolling. Reserved passes will be honored when the roads are open. General parking will be in the grass along Reinhardt Drive and overflow will be in Mardi Gras parking. Fans can show their game tickets to park for free.Â
Reinhardt Drive will close at approximately 12:30 pm on Saturday, February 22 in preparation for parades. At this time, all pass holders will need to park in general parking.Â
Â
RV owners must purchase a pass from the Mardi Gras Association through their website. There will be no general admission RV parking.Â
Â
Fans with ADA or Reserved parking passes should enter through Gate 1 while general admission parking lots will be accessible through Gate 2 (west side parking) and Gate 4 (east side parking). Patrons who park on the east side of Cajun Field will have access to a shuttle that will drop off at the front entrance of Russo Park.Â

Â
Please note that parking during Mardi Gras is not controlled by Louisiana Athletics, but by the Southwest Louisiana Mardi Gras Association.
Â
All who plan trips to see Louisiana Baseball in action should take note that traffic and congestion occurs frequently during Mardi Gras, and travel times will be impacted. Please plan additional time into travel schedules.
Â
Information on the simplified parking rules and regulations that will be implemented this season can be found here.Â
