Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Play at the Lady Demon Invitational

NATCHITOCHES, La. – The Louisiana Women's Tennis team finished their first fall tournament of the season this past weekend competing at the Lady Demon Invitational on the campus of Northwestern State. The two-day tournament brought home solid results for the women.
Perez Noguera Solid in Debut
New Ragin' Cajun Mariona Perez Noguera had a nice weekend in her debut with the Ragin' Cajuns. Noguera opened the first day of competition with a win against Momoko Yoshimura and finished the weekend by beating Flory Bierman (SLU) 6-0, 6-2 early Saturday morning to place third in the white singles draw, one of the top draws of the event.
Harvey Takes Second Place
AK Harvey placed second in the blue singles draw at the Lady Demon Invitational. Harvey snagged a pair of wins on Friday before falling in the championship to Olivia Alfredsson (NSU), 7-6 (3), 6-2.
The Duo of Picaut/Raquin
Floriane Picaut and freshman Lucie Raquin started the season on a strong note in doubles play. The duo took down Fabre/Kamal from Stephen F. Austin 6-3 in the semifinal of the white doubles draw before falling in the championship round to Gargallo/Polanska (NSU), 6-4.
UP NEXT: Louisiana returns to Lafayette to host the Ragin' Cajun Invitational on October 4 and 5.
