#Robe36 - Remembering Coach Robichaux
7/8/2019 9:52:00 AM | Baseball
Social media posts honoring the late Louisiana Baseball head coach
Was told Tony Robichaux had a beautiful service. Lots of college baseball coaches in attendance — Virginia's Karl Kuhn, Sam Houston State's Matt Deggs, LSU legend Skip Bertman and Paul Mainieri, among many others. — Really cool to see the support for the UL community.
— Kendall Rogers (@KendallRogers) July 10, 2019
The amount of people who stood out side of their vehicles with hats over their hearts and those who lined the streets at every business/community the procession came to for the 30 mile long drive home for coach... Absolutely incredible.
— Caleb Adams (@CalebAdams_13) July 11, 2019
The people of Lafayette are unmatched. Seeing the streets lined with red for the procession was incredible. Just a reminder of how important he was to this community #Robe36

Coach Robe knew I had lost my father before coming to UL. He took the time to call me in his office from time to time to let me know I had a father figure in him if I needed one. One tweet can't describe what that meant to me... #Robe36 https://t.co/BEqMgrzQlm

He was accessible to patients he didn't even know at a children's hospital with cancer, to a classroom of 16 year olds preparing for the sacrament confirmation at a parish of which he was not a member. Tony made time to encourage, empower and motivate people any time he could.
— Sal Miceli (@s_miceli) July 4, 2019
I played for Robe in early-mid 90's. In 2009 my good friends/ex-teammates put together a benefit for my wife, who at the time was fighting cancer. Robe and Colleen made a special trip down to give us support, why u ask, because in essence, that's Coach Robe. A great man!#Robe36
— Trent Bourque (@TrentBourque11) July 4, 2019
Still haven't been able to put into text what to say.. So many memories come to mind when I think of Robe. I played for Robe for 2 years and in those 2 years 90% of our conversations were about life nothing to do with baseball. You changed the way I saw life. I love you for that.
