Louisiana Women’s Basketball Releases 2019-20 Sun Belt Conference Schedule

The 2019-20 league slate features 18 games, including nine home games
NEW ORLEANS – Featuring home-and-home matchups with seven of its league opponents and lone meetings with four others, the Sun Belt Conference office released the 2019-20 women's basketball schedule on Wednesday afternoon.
Louisiana, which finished the 2018-19 season with a 5-13 record in league play, returns their entire squad from a season ago and welcomes in three new faces.
The Ragin' Cajuns open the conference campaign with five of their six games on the road, beginning with a trip to Georgia State (January 2) and Georgia Southern (January 4). Louisiana will play its home opener on January 9 against South Alabama before journeying to Troy (January 11), UTA (January 16) and Texas State (January 18).
Arkansas State (January 23) and ULM (January 25) come to town to wrap up the opening month of league play, with Little Rock (February 1) kicking off the month of February. After a quick trip to Mobile for a date with South Alabama on February 6, the Ragin' Cajuns welcome Troy (February 8), Georgia State (February 13) and Georgia Southern to the Cajundome.
Louisiana then hits the road for three-straight games, beginning on February 22 in Monroe against ULM. The trip concludes with a visit to Appalachian State (February 27) and Coastal Carolina (February 29). The regular season finishes on the first weekend of March with UTA (March 5) and Texas State (March 7) in Lafayette.
The 2020 Sun Belt Women's Basketball Championship will once again see 10 teams vying for the tournament title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship. First-round games will be held on Tuesday, March 10 and quarterfinal games will be played on Wednesday, March 11. Both rounds will be played on campus sites.
The semifinals on Saturday, March 14 and championship game on Sunday, March 15 will be held at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will receive byes directly to the semifinals, while the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will each host a pair of first-round games and a quarterfinal game. All nine games of the championship are slated for live coverage on the ESPN family of networks.
Louisiana's non-conference schedule, TV schedule and tip-off times will be released at a later date.
