@RaginCajunsTRK Preview: at LSU Alumni Gold

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Baton Rouge to compete in the annual LSU Alumni Gold at Bernie Moore Track Stadium.

Action begins with a morning session at 8:45 a.m., before the afternoon session starts at 2 p.m. Live results will be available at RaginCajuns.com.

Louisiana will be part of a crowded 29-team field that includes host LSU, Sun Belt Conference rivals Texas State and ULM, plus in-state programs Grambling, Louisiana Tech, McNeese, New Orleans, Nicholls, Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern, Southern-New Orleans and Tulane.

Three Louisiana athletes – Damon Guidry (men's high jump), Dominique Williams (men's hammer throw) and Kimmie Rushford (women's pole vault – enter the meet ranked first in the Sun Belt Conference in their respective events.

Freshman Terroll Jolla (10.36, men's 100-meters) and Sean Bouzigard (199-4, men's javelin) each posted the second-best marks in the league last week at the Cole-Lancon Conference Challenge with freshman Obdarius Ware (men's long jump) and Reagann Leleux (women's pole vault) ranked third in the SBC.

Tyler Hughes, ranked No. 4 in the Sun Belt in the men's 110-meter hurdles, nearly matched his personal-best after clocking a time of 14.18 last week for the Ragin' Cajuns with Kyle Baudoin (17-0) ranked fourth in the men's pole vault and Shaquille Singuineau (54-6 ½) fourth in the shot put.

Alexa Johnson joins Rushford and Leleux in the top four athletes in the women's pole vault among Sun Belt Conference athletes with Frankie Griffin ranked fourth in the women's high jump and Claire Meyers fourth in the women's javelin.
