Seven runs in the first two innings secured the series victory for the Trojans

It was a frustrating afternoon for the Ragin' Cajuns (12-16, 3-5), who went 3-for-15 at the plate with runners in scoring position and finished the game with a season-high four errors.
Â
After seeing his 14-game hitting streak snapped on Friday, sophomore Hayden Cantrelle responded in a big way on Saturday with three hits and a run scored.
Â
Senior Hunter Kasuls produced his second multi-hit game of the series with a single and a double in four at bats, while Kole McKinnon and Handsome Monica each added two hits of their own.

Left-hander Grant Cox went the majority of the game, giving up three runs on four hits and striking out two Trojans in a career-high 5.2 innings of work. Starter Austin Perrin took the loss, giving up four runs on six hits in 0.2 of an inning.

Troy wasted no time getting the bats going, scoring four runs on six singles in the first. A sacrifice fly in the top of the second scored Veillon and cut into the lead, but three more Trojan runs in the bottom of the second put Troy up, 7-1.

After a scoreless third frame, the two teams traded runs in the fourth and fifth innings, moving the score to 9-3 through five.

Louisiana took another cut into the deficit in the sixth when it plated runs via an error and a Breaux single to pull within four runs at 9-5. Tremaine Spears added another run with a solo shot in the ninth, but it was unable to score anymore runs as Troy cruised to a 10-6 win.
