LAFAYETTE – Having won its previous two matches, and four out of the last five, Louisiana Men's Tennis (18-5, 0-0 SBC) enters its first Sun Belt Conference weekend with a visit from the two Georgia Schools, starting with Georgia Southern (12-5, 0-0 SBC) on Friday, March 22 at 4 p.m., followed by a matchup with Georgia State (8-8, 0-0 SBC) on Sunday, March 24 with that match set to start at 10:30 a.m.

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING: For the first time in Sun Belt Conference history, men's tennis will play a true conference schedule.  Louisiana, which enters the weekend with the best overall record in the Sun Belt, starts with the Georgia schools this upcoming weekend, and then the Ragin' Cajuns hit the road for the Carolina swing starting with Appalachian State (Mar. 29), before wrapping up the weekend at Coastal Carolina (Mar. 31).

The Ragin' Cajuns return to Cajun Courts for the final home weekend of the season, with South Alabama (Apr. 5) and Troy (Apr. 7).  Louisiana finishes the regular season with one final matchup, a trip to UT Arlington (Apr. 13), before heading to Peachtree, Georgia for the Sun Belt Conference Men's Tennis Championships, which start on April 19.

FRASER LEADS: Junior Jamie Fraser has been on a tear all season long, going 16-2 in singles and 10-1 in doubles for a 26-3 overall spring record during the non-conference portion of the schedule.  Fraser has been a key cog to the heart of Louisiana's lineup, going 5-0 at No. 4, 7-2 at No. 5 and 3-0 at No. 6 to power Louisiana in every match.

He brings a four-match winning streak into the weekend, and over his last 10 matches he is 7-1.  In doubles, Fraser has gone 7-1 at No. 3, with the majority of those wins at No. 3 coming when Fraser was paired up with fellow junior Elio Lago, with the duo going 4-1 at No. 3 doubles.

SENIOR LEADERSHIP: Senior Arthur Libaud is leaving his mark during his final collegiate season, entering the conference weekend sitting at 13-4 in singles and 10-3 in doubles to post a 23-6 overall record during the spring.  Libaud has played every spot in singles, except No. 6, but he has primarily sat at No. 3 and No. 4.

At No. 3, Libaud has gone 5-2 and at No. 4 he has posted a 5-1 record to be a force for Louisiana in the middle of the lineup.  Over the previous 10 matches, Libaud has gone 7-3 and he brings a two-match winning streak into the weekend.

WHAT THE EAGLES BRING: Friday's match against Georgia Southern, will be the second straight matchup between the two programs with Louisiana taking last season's matchup, 4-3, in Statesboro, Ga.  It will be the first time that the two programs have met in Lafayette, La., since 2015, a match that Georgia Southern took, 4-3.

The Eagles enter the match having won their previous match, 4-2, at Lamar and they have won six out of their last seven matches going back to a 4-2 win at Presbyterian on March 2.  Over the last 10 years, Louisiana and Georgia Southern have met four times, with Louisiana holding a 3-1 advantage and the Ragin' Cajuns have won the past two meetings.

WHAT THE PANTHERS BRING: Georgia State will begin the weekend at UT Arlington, playing the Mavericks on Friday, March 22 before heading to Lafayette to face Louisiana.  Over the last five matches, Georgia State has only won a pair, but they did win their previous match, 4-1, at Florida Gulf Coast on March 20.

The Panthers have taken the previous four meetings between the two programs, with the two sides meeting at least once over the previous four seasons.  Over the past 10 years, Georgia State is 5-1 against Louisiana, with the Ragin' Cajuns previous win coming at home on Feb. 6, 2015.
