@RaginCajunsMT Ranked No. 26 Recruiting Class Of 2019 In TRN/Mizuno Poll

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Men's Tennis head coach Mark Jeffrey and associate head coach Luc Godin have been busy during the most recent recruiting period, signing two recruits to National Letters of Intent who are among some of the top ranked in the nation giving the Ragin' Cajuns the No. 26 ranked recruiting class of 2019 in the nation as ranked by the Tennis Recruiting Network and Mizuno in its Top-25 Men's Tennis Recruiting Classes.

"This is our second highest recruiting finish in the 11 seasons I have been at Louisiana," said Jeffrey.  "In 2014 we got ranked 18th in the same poll, so this speaks to the hard work that myself and coach Godin have put in."

Louisiana's ranking puts them ahead of nine Power Five programs, Notre Dame (ACC); Georgia Tech (ACC); Virginia (ACC); Texas Tech (Big-12); Vanderbilt (SEC); Tennessee (SEC); Arizona (PAC-12); Northwestern (BIG10) and Michigan State (BIG10).  In terms of the Sun Belt Conference, Louisiana is the only program that within the Top-30 and the only program to receive votes period.

PAIR OF TOP SIGNINGS: Louisiana's two signees, both from Europe, come in as highly touted recruits.  Hailing from Sofia, Bulgaria, Ivailo Keremedchiev, is a six-foot-one right-hander, who has a large amount of experience playing in high leveled competitions. 

In Keremedchiev's last 29 matches he has gone 24-5, all on the International Tennis Federation Junior Circuit and he has ranked as high as No. 386 in the world on the ITF Junior Circuit and he was signed during back in November.

Louisiana's next signing, Stefan Gazo, is a native of Belgrade, Serbia, and he was signed more recently to the program.  Gazo comes to Louisiana having gone 14-3 over his past 17 matches and he carries a University Tennis Rating of 12.

"Ivailo and Stefan are coming in as accomplished players proven by the rankings, they have both achieved," said Jeffrey.  "We feel that both will come in and make an immediate impact on the program and help Louisiana continue to be successful within the conference and the country."
