Louisiana to face toughest field of spring in 54-hole tourney
CHULA VISTA, Calif. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team returns to action beginning Monday when it competes at the 54-hole Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic at the San Diego Country Club.

First-day action, which will consist of 36 holes, will begin with a 10:30 a.m. CT shotgun start. The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. CT. Live results will be available at GolfStat.com.

The two-day event, which is hosted by both the University of San Diego and San Diego State, is highlighted by a pair of top-10 teams – No. 5 Arizona State and No. 8 Texas. Five schools ranked in the GolfStat top-50 – No. 34 North Carolina, No. 46 Arizona, No. 48 Ole Miss, No. 49 Saint Mary's (Calif.) and No. 50 Colorado State – are also part of the field, along with New Mexico, Colorado, Washington, Nebraska and Air Force.

Louisiana, which will be paired with San Diego and Air Force during the opening day, will be led on the par-72, 7,033-yard course by junior Jack Tolson, who has posted a 74.0 average in 18 rounds of play. Peter Hinnant (73.94), Charlie Flynn (73.95), Hudson Dubinski (75.53) and Triston Elston (74.71) will join Tolson in the lineup.
