CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Freshman Charlie Flynn posted a 2-under-par 70 in the opening round with Triston Elston carding a 3-over 75 in the second to lead the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team after the first day of the 12th annual Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic at the San Diego Country Club.

The second round of the 54-hole tournament was halted due to darkness with 91 of the 92 golfers completing their round. The completion of the second round, along with the third round, will begin at 10 a.m., CT. Louisiana, which will be paired with No. 50-ranked Colorado State and Colorado, will tee off at 11:39 a.m., CT, from hole No. 10.

Louisiana opened the day with a 5-over 293 before shooting a 306 in the second round to finish at 599 and in a 12th-place tie with Washington.

Flynn (70-77-147) finished in a tie for 26th-place to lead the Ragin' Cajuns after the first 36 holes on the par-72, 7,033-yard course. Elston (74-75-149) carded Louisiana's lowest score in the second round with Jack Tolson (73-79-152), Hudson Dubinski (76-78-154) and Peter Hinnant (80-76-156)

No. 5-ranked Arizona State posted rounds of 280 and 281 to finish at 561 after the first day and take a 10-stroke lead over No. 8 Texas (283-288-571). North Carolina (575), St. Mary's (582) and co-host San Diego State (583) rounded out the top five.

Texas' Pierceson Coody recorded a 7-under 65 in the second round to finish at 136 overall and claim the first-day lead. Arizona State's Mason Andersen (138), Chun An Yu (140) and Alex del Rey (141) were among a group of nine golfers who finished under-par after 36 holes.
