Williams, who joined former Ragin' Cajuns Parker Alleman (1997), James Boyd (1998), Garrett Harkless (2011) and Justin Victor (2014) as SBC champions in the weight throw, traded the lead with Texas State's Brandon Busby through the first two attempts before posting a personal-best mark of 65 feet, 6 inches on his third attempt to take the lead for good.
Sokol gave Louisiana its first pair of all-conference performers in the event since Alleman and Anthony Clement in 1997 after his personal-best throw of 59-8 ¼ came on his fifth attempt.
Burger, a freshman, claimed the first conference indoor title by a Ragin' Cajun in a distance event since William Wilkinson and Pat McGrath in 1982, after posting a time of 8:24.25 to claim the title in the 3,000-meters. The men's distance medley relay team of Stanley Limoh, Key Alfred, Kemondrick Walter and Jonathan Kimutai earned a third-place finish for Louisiana after posting a school-record time of 10:14.09, breaking the previous (10:16.10) set in 2013.

Freshman Obdarius Ware nearly earned all-conference honors in the men's long jump after finishing fourth at 23-8.
