Women’s Tennis Completes Ragin’ Cajuns Invitational

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Women's Tennis team had a strong showing in the final day of the Ragin' Cajun Invitational on Saturday at the Cajun Courts.
Floriane Picaut picked up a great win beating Ilana Tetruashvili (La Tech) 7-6 (5), 4-6, 10-8 and Mariona Perez Noguera took down Nadja Manion (La Tech), 7-5, 3-6, 10-4.
Head coach Stephanie Vallejos had nothing but positive things to say about Picaut and Perez. "Both played a very hard fought match," Vallejos exclaimed. "They handled the pressure and it was clear they competed with heart and experience. Today the team as a whole came out in singles showcasing their talent, but more importantly that they were willing to flight for it. If we can make it a habit, it will be the start to a great year.
Other Ragin' Cajuns to claim victories were AK Harvey who defeated Andrea Perez (La Tech), 6-2, 6-2, and Hoda Habib beating Aleix Romero (La Tech), 6-3, 6-2.
