Louisiana claims four first-place finishes in previous meet at McNeese

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team heads east to Baton Rouge on Friday when it competes in the LSU Bayou Bengal at Carl Maddox Fieldhouse.
 
Action begins at 11 a.m., with field events. Running events will begin at 2:15 p.m. Live results will be available at RaginCajuns.com.
 
Louisiana will be joined in the meet by host LSU, along with Grambling, Hinds Community College, Lamar, McNeese, Meridian Community College, New Orleans, Nicholls, Northwestern State, Southern, Texas Southern, Tulane and ULM.
 
Louisiana earned four first-place finishes in its last meet as Damon Guidry, Kyle Baudoin, Kimmie Rushford and Shalei Matthews all claimed individual titles. Six athletes claimed second-place performances for the Ragin' Cajuns, highlighted by the freshmen trio of Hannes Burger, John Joseph and Tyrell Hargrove.
 
Burger (men's 3,000-meter run) and freshman teammate Reagann Leleux (women's pole vault) are ranked No. 1 in the Sun Belt Conference in their respective events with Guidry, Baudoin, Rushford and Frankie Griffin (women's high jump) all ranked second.
