Louisiana's winning streak extended to six straight matches with a pair of wins over Jackson State
LAFAYETTE - Louisiana Men's Tennis (6-1) continued its hot start to the season getting its fifth and sixth straight wins, taking down Jackson State (0-4), 6-1, 4-0, in a doubleheader sweep at Cajun Courts.
Senior Arthur Libaud snagged himself two wins, while junior Elio Lago got himself a pair of wins over the two matches to power Louisiana. Freshman Jan Galka won two matches as well, both at No. 1 singles to set the pace for Louisiana on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED (FIRST MATCH): Louisiana won all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. Lago and sophomore Pierce Gilheany knocked off Lebelo Mosehle and Thomas Torres of Jackson State by a score of 6-1.
Clinching the doubles point and giving Louisiana a quick 1-0 lead was Libaud and freshman Marko Vujic taking down Andrey Alawi and Richy Gamo by a score of 6-4. Finishing the doubles sweep was junior Jamie Fraser and freshman Kacper Dworak's 6-3, victory over Fritz Jacobs and Juan Soria.
Louisiana carried the momentum into singles and first to grab a win was Lago when he took down Torres in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore Dominick Koenig next got a win over Jacobs 6-2, 6-0 to put Louisiana up 3-0.
Galka then clinched the match with a straight set, 6-4, 6-0, win over Alawi. With Louisiana up 4-0, Fraser beat Soria 6-2, 6-1 and Libaud knocked off Mosehle, 6-3, 7-6(1), to give Louisiana a 6-1 win in the first match of the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED (SECOND MATCH): Louisiana rolled into the next match with Libaud and Fraser getting things started with a 6-2 win over Torres and Mosehle. Clinching the doubles point was the duo of Galka and Dworak, when they took down Soria and Jacobs 6-2 to carry a 1-0 lead into singles play.

As Louisiana inched closer to a sixth consecutive win, Fraser won the third point 6-3, 6-0 over Mosehle. Libaud then locked up Louisiana's second win of the day with a straight set, 6-2, 6-4 over Soria.
