Louisiana Golf Continues Spring Slate At Lone Star Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, Texas. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team is set to open play at the Lone Star Invitational on Monday at the par 72, 7,247-yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club.

Teams will play 36 holes on the first day with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Monday. The third and final round is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.

The Field

Host UTSA is joined by Arkansas State, Kansas, Little Rock, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, McNeese, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oklahoma, Rice, Southern Miss, Texas State, ULM and UTEP in the 15-team field.

The tournament features pairings where all five members of each team will play together instead of being paired with players from other teams. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.

The Lineup

Sophomore Jack Tolson is coming off of back-to-back top 25 finishes as he has carded a 68 in the last two tournaments. Tolson is joined by junior Triston Elston and freshmen Peter Hinnant, Cole Kendrick and Justin Caldwell in the lineup.

Elston continues to have the best scoring average of the group with a 73.24 average through 21 rounds, while Tolson has lowered his average to 74.05.

Following the Lone Star Intercollegiate, the Ragin' Cajuns return to the state of Louisiana for the Lake Charles Invitational from March 26-27 hosted by McNeese at the Country Club at Golden Nugget.
