LAFAYETTE, La. – The 20th-ranked Louisiana baseball team is set to open its home slate on Friday at 6:30 p.m. as the Cajuns host Wright State in the first of three games at the recently completed M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park over the weekend.
 
Game two of the series is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, while first pitch of the series finale is slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
 
The first 1,500 fans in attendance on Friday will receive a free Ragin' Cajuns mini bat in honor of the 2018 home opener. There will also be a fireworks show after the completion of the first game.

Friday's contest will be broadcast live on Cox Sports Television (CST) and simulcast on ESPN3 outside of the CST viewing areas. Tommy Thrall and Ronnie Rantz will call the action on CST. Games two and three of the series can be seen live on RaginCajuns.com with Dan McDonald providing play-by-play.
 
Fans can also listen to the games on News Talk 96.5 KPEL-FM. Scott Prather and Brad Topham will be on the call Friday and Saturday, while Jay Walker will join Topham for the broadcast on Sunday. Live stats for the series are available on RaginCajuns.com.

Scouting Louisiana
 
The Ragin' Cajuns (1-3) closed out a four-game road swing to open the season on Wednesday falling to Southeastern Louisiana 5-2.
 
Freshman Hayden Cantrelle leads Louisiana with two RBI after posting his first collegiate home run against the Lions, while junior Gavin Bourgeois has a team-best .267 average with a double and an RBI.
 
The Cajuns pitching staff boasts a 3.21 ERA after four games. Opponents are hitting just .231 against Louisiana with 27 strikeouts.
 
Scouting Wright State
 
Wright State (0-3) was swept in its season opening series at Tulane dropping two close contests with a 4-3 decision on Friday and 6-5 loss in 10 innings on Saturday. The Raiders open the 2018 season with 12 straight road contests after posting a 38-21 record a year ago.
 
Junior Zach Weatherford leads Wright State hitting .333 (4-for-12) with a double, home run and two RBI in the opening series. Senior Matt Morrow drove in a team-best three runs on a pair of hits at Tulane.
 
On the mound, the Raiders have a 7.11 ERA after giving up 21 runs on 25 hits in three games to the Green Wave.
 
Up Next
 
Following the series with Wright State, Louisiana will close out its four-game home stand on Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Nicholls. The Cajuns then head to Houston, Texas to face Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and Kentucky at the Shriners College Classic hosted at Minute Maid Park from March 2-4.
