Carter Earns All-America Honors In Men's 100-Meter Dash

Senior finishes 20th overall; joins Harold Porter as UL All-Americans in sprints
EUGENE, Ore. – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns sprinter Hanoj Carter recorded a time of 10.32 seconds in the semifinals of the men's 100-meter dash to finish 20th overall and earn All-America honors at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday at Hayward Field.
Carter, who earned honorable mention All-America honors, finished sixth in his heat that was captured by Houston's Cameron Burrell (9.93). The Shreveport native became the second Ragin' Cajun to earn All-America honors in the 100-meters, joining Harold Porter in 1973.
The senior qualified for the national meet after clocking a time of 10.39 to finish 10th overall at the NCAA East Preliminary last month in Lexington, Ky.
