Cajuns Head To South Texas To Face UT Rio Grande Valley

Weeklong trip to the Lone Star State concludes with H-E-B Tournament of Champions
EDINBURG, Texas – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team begins a week of matches on the road beginning Tuesday when it visits UT Rio Grande Valley in a 2 p.m. match at the Orville I. Cox Tennis Center.
Louisiana (9-4) opens the week in south Texas facing UTRGV (2-9) before competing in the H-E-B Tournament of Champions that begins Friday in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The Ragin' Cajuns return to action for the first time after dropping a 4-1 contest to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday at Cajun Courts in the final match of a 10-match homestand. Arthur Libaud picked up a 6-1, 6-4 over AMCC's Cagatay Soke at No. 2 singles for Louisiana, improving his singles record to 8-3 in dual matches.
Eric Perez (6-3) and freshman Jamie Fraser (5-2) have produced solid campaigns for Louisiana in dual matches with Fraser and Libaud headlining a doubles lineup by posting a 9-1 record on the season.
UTRGV has dropped its last four matches on the season, including a 4-1 loss at Incarnate Word on Saturday. Koby Jansen, who has played at four spots in the lineup, is 5-2 on the season in dual matches for the Vaqueros.
Jansen and Mateo Schmit have posted a 4-2 record at No. 2 doubles this season for UTRGV with Elliot Johnstone and Clement Sarradin going 3-6 at No. 1.
