Ragin' Cajuns Open Home Slate With Matches Against Jackson State, Alcorn State

LAFAYETTE – After opening the 2017 season last weekend in the Sunshine State, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team officially starts its home schedule on Saturday when it faces Jackson State in a pair of matches at Cajun Courts.

Matches are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and admission is free to the public. Live stats will be available at www.Cajunstats.com.

The matches against Jackson State (0-0) which participated in last year's NCAA Regionals, are the first of 10 straight contests at home for Louisiana (1-2). The Ragin' Cajuns will return to action on Sunday when it faces Alcorn State in a pair of matches beginning at 10 a.m.

Louisiana opened its season last weekend at the Florida State Invitational, capping off the three-match event with a 4-1 win over Florida A&M. Freshman Pearse Dolan and Arthur Libaud each picked up a victory at No. 3 singles during the weekend for the Ragin' Cajuns with freshman Elio Lago clinching Louisiana's win over FAMU with a win at No. 5 and freshman Jamie Fraser a win at No. 6.

Dolan and Vlad Kramarov picked up a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles for Louisiana with Fraser and Libaud earning two wins at No. 3. Seniors Eric Perez and Coleman Wahlborg opened the weekend splitting a pair of matches at No. 2 doubles, with its win coming last Friday against Florida State's tandem of Terrell and Terrance Whitehurst.
