Cajuns Golf Set To Tee Off At The Franklin American Mortgage Intercollegiate at The Grove

 MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team returns to action as the squad tees off Sunday at The Franklin American Mortgage Intercollegiate at The Grove hosted at the par-72, 7,368-yard The Grove Club.

"We are looking forward to our quick turnaround being back in competition this week at The Franklin American Mortgage Intercollegiate at The Grove," head coach Theo Sliman said. "Coach Webb has put together a great field consisting of eight teams who played in the NCAA Tournament last season. This gives us an opportunity to get some wins on schools that we have not seen. It will take a collective group effort and the team does not have to do anything extraordinary this week to come home successful. I am very anxious to see the grit and toughness of our guys, and how well they handle the adversity of competition."

Action gets underway at 8 a.m. on Sunday with play starting off of the first hole. The second round is set for 8 a.m. Monday, while the third and final round will start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

Host Middle Tennessee, Cincinnati, College of Charleston, Elon, Georgia, Kennesaw State, Louisiana, Louisville, McNeese, Memphis, Mississippi, North Carolina State, Troy and Wisconsin make up the 14-team field.

The Cajuns are coming off of a sixth place finish at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate that saw newcomer Aron Juliusson finish in third place with a 54-hole score of 4-under par.

Juliusson is joined by Jack Tolson, Triston Elston, Ragnar Gardarsson and Fernando Cruz Valle on the lineup. Elston claimed his first ever top 10 performance at the The Franklin American Mortgage Intercollegiate at The Grove last year finishing in seventh place at 3-over.

The Ragin' Cajuns are paired with Memphis in the first round and will tee off starting at 12:32 p.m. Live scoring for The Franklin American Mortgage Intercollegiate at The Grove is available on Golfstat.com.
