LAFAYETTE, La. – The 21st-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set to open a five-game road swing with a midweek contest against Houston on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park.
 
The contest with the Cougars was not part of the original schedule and was added after the cancellation of the April 20 game against McNeese State.

The Ragin' Cajuns (31-17, 16-8 Sun Belt) are coming off of their tenth series win of the season sandwiching wins against Appalachian State with a 7-0 victory in the opener before capturing the rubber match 4-1. Louisiana is 6-6 in midweek games this season.
 
Sophomore right-hander Evan Guillory will make his 12th start of the season at Houston. Guillory is 4-4 with a 3.58 ERA in 60.1 innings pitched. The Jennings, La., native made his first career appearance out of the bullpen against the Mountaineers this past weekend striking out seven in three scoreless innings.
 
Offensively, the Cajuns are hitting .269 as a team led by Kyle Clement with a .372 average. Clement ranks third in the Sun Belt in hitting and has 13 multi-hit games this year.
 
Senior Brian Mills has a team-best 33 RBI with a .303 average, seven doubles and four home runs, while Brenn Conrad is second on the squad with 29 RBI.
 
Houston leads the all-time series with the Ragin' Cajuns 38-13-1. The Cajuns have won four of the last six meetings including two straight with a pair of wins a year ago. Louisiana edged Houston 2-1 in the winner's bracket game of the 2015 Houston Regional to reach the championship game. The Cajuns are 6-16-1 all-time against the Cougars in Houston.
 
The Cougars (27-19, 8-9 American) are slated to face Rice on Tuesday night before hosting the Ragin' Cajuns. Houston has won three of its last four contests including a series win against Memphis. The Cougars bounced back from a 12-4 loss in the series opener with the Tigers to win 3-2 and 6-2 to claim the series.
 
Houston boasts one of the top pitching staffs in the nation with the third best ERA (2.55) in the country. The Cougars have yet to announce a starter for the contest.
 
Joe Davis paces the Houston offense hitting .341 with 14 doubles, nine home runs and 40 RBI. As a team, the Cougars are hitting .268 with 59 doubles, 11 triples and 25 home runs.
 
Following the matchup with Houston, the Cajuns will head to Mobile, Ala. for a three-game series against South Alabama. The series opener is slated for Friday at 6:30 p.m.
