STATESBORO, Ga. – The 26th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team will face its second straight road conference series this weekend as the squad heads to Georgia Southern for its first ever three-game series at J.I. Clements Stadium.

First pitch of the series opener on Friday is set for 6 p.m. CDT. The two teams meet again at 6 p.m. CDT on Saturday, before closing out the series at noon CDT on Sunday.

Friday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com. All three games can be heard live on News Talk 96.5 KPEL-FM with Jay Walker making the call and Jeff Schneider adding color. Live stats and video are available on RaginCajuns.com.

The series is only the second meeting between the Cajuns and Eagles with Georgia Southern taking two of three from Louisiana at The Tigue a year ago.

The Ragin' Cajuns (19-10, 8-4 Sun Belt) have won seven of their last eight contests coming off of a 4-0 shutout of Northwestern State in the midweek. Sophomore right-hander Evan posted the first complete game one-hit shutout in six years in the contest.

Louisiana has won five of its six series this year with three coming in conference play. Two of the three conference series wins came on the road at Troy and Arkansas State.

The Cajuns rank 26th in the nation in ERA, boasting a 3.06 ERA as a staff. Sophomore left-hander Gunner Leger (3-2, 2.79 ERA) will make the start on Friday. Sophomore right-handers Wyatt Marks (3-2, 4.17 ERA) and Nick Lee (5-1, 2.70 ERA) will close out the weekend on the mound for the Ragin' Cajuns will Marks getting the nod Saturday and Lee starting Sunday.

Senior Kyle Clement has a team-best .356 average with three doubles, a home run and nine RBI. Joe Robbins paces the squad with three doubles, three triples, seven home runs and 20 RBI.

Georgia Southern (17-12, 6-6 Sun Belt) has won its last two contests after getting swept at home by Texas State last weekend. The Eagles defeated the College of Charleston 13-10 on the road Tuesday before dominating Savannah State 16-1 on Wednesday.

Left-hander Evan Challenger (4-2, 2.44 ERA) will make the start in the series opener for Georgia Southern. The Eagles will close out the series with a pair of right-handers as Chase Cohen (2-2, 2.70 ERA) will make the start Saturday and Brian Eichhorn (3-1, 2.19 ERA) is slated to start on Sunday.

Offensively, Georgia Southern is hitting .259 as a team with 36 doubles, five triples and 14 home runs. Logan Baldwin leads the squad with a .333 average, six doubles, a triple and 20 RBI, while Ryan Cleveland has a team-best eight doubles, seven home runs and 24 RBI.
