LAFAYETTE - Wednesday's scheduled midweek game featuring the No. 5-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team and Longwood at Lamson Park has been canceled.

Due to impending inclement weather in the south Louisiana region, and severe weather concerns, the decision to cancel was made by both coaching staffs.

The Ragin' Cajuns-Lancers contest will not be rescheduled.

No. 5 Louisiana (17-1) now turns its attention to its Sun Belt Conference-opening series that is scheduled for Saturday-Sunday, March 12-13 against South Alabama at Lamson Park. The series starts with a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and concludes with a 1 p.m. single game on Sunday.
