Louisiana Set for Okana Invitational in Norman

Cajuns meet Abilene Christian, No. 4 Oklahoma during final tournament before Sun Belt play

NORMAN, Okla. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball team closes out its non-conference tournament schedule this weekend when it competes in the Okana Invitational at Love's Field in Norman, Oklahoma from Saturday-Sunday, March 7–8.
 
Louisiana (14-8) faces Abilene Christian (2-17) and host Oklahoma (20-2) — ranked No. 4 nationally — once each day during the two-day event.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns open the tournament Saturday at 11:30 a.m. against ACU before meeting OU at 5:00 p.m. Sunday's schedule features a twinbill beginning at 10:00 a.m. against the same two opponents.
 
Fans can listen to each game in the Lafayette area on The GOAT 103.3 FM and 1420 AM and worldwide on the Varsity Network app with Cody Junot (pxp) and Bobby Neveaux (analyst) providing commentary. The Oklahoma matchups will be televised on SECN+.
 
The visit marks Louisiana's first appearance at Love's Field since March 2024, when the Cajuns snapped Oklahoma's NCAA-record 71-game winning streak in the OU Tournament finale.
 
The Norman trip continues a 12-game road swing for Louisiana, which wraps up next weekend with its Sun Belt Conference Opening Series at Southern Miss.

>> Second baseman Mia Liscano, who batted 9-of-15 (.600) last week, leads Louisiana with a .471 batting average – effectively turning the lineup over from the No. 9 spot. Her 24 hits and 19 runs scored are both team highs.
 
>> Freshman outfielder Haley Hart has generated 17 RBI and a team-best .661 slugging percentage. She's one of five Cajuns hitting .300 or better this season and has a team-high tying four home runs.
 
>> Third baseman Brooke Otto is one of Louisiana's primary power threats in the middle of the order, hitting .317 with six doubles and four home runs.
 
>> Kennedy Marceaux and Emily Smith make up the other half of the Cajuns' quartet with four home runs (joining Hart and Otto). Smith leads the group with 18 RBI.
 
>> Bethaney Noble holds a 4-1 record with a team-best 1.46 ERA. She has four complete games, two shutouts and two saves in eight appearances.
 
>> Sage Hoover has pitched a team-leading 43.1 innings. She battled LSU for 9.2 innings in a 2-1 contest and claimed a win over then-No. 15 Texas A&M last Friday.
 
>> Lexie Delbrey is tied with Hoover in games started (6) and holds a staff-best .250 opposing average among the primary starters. She's yielded just four earned runs over 11.0 innings in her last two starts.

UP NEXT FOR LOUISIANA
Louisiana begins Sun Belt Conference play with the league-opening series in Hattiesburg, Mississippi from Friday-Sunday, March 13-15 against Southern Miss at the USM Softball Complex.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns and Golden Eagles meet on SBC Opening Weekend for the second time in past four seasons (UL visited in 2023). It's the fourth straight season that Louisiana begins conference play on the road.
 
The series opener is set for 6:00 p.m. on Friday (March 13). Play continues Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and concludes on Sunday with the series finale at noon.
 
The entire series will be televised on ESPN+ with a radio broadcast available on The GOAT 103.3 FM and 1420 AM in the Acadiana region and worldwide on Varsity Network with Cody Junot (pxp) and Bobby Neveaux (analyst) providing commentary.
