Men's Tennis Falls to Brown in Monday Match

LAFAYETTE -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team fell by a 4-1 final to Brown University on Monday afternoon at Cajun Courts.
The Cajuns record dropped to 13-10 this season and snapped a two-match win streak.
Louisiana swept doubles to take an early 1-0 lead. Senior Edgar Lopez and junior Eric Perez topped Gregory Garcia and Peter Tarwid, 7-5 at No. 1. At No. 2, junior Will Huyton and freshman Arthur Libaud defeated Charles Tan and Jack Haworth, 7-6, (7-3) at No. 2, taking the doubles point.
In singles, Brown tied the match at 1-1 as Jack Haworth prevailed, 6-2, 6-2 in straight sets over Huyton at No. 3. At the No. 1 spot, Garcia eliminated Lopez, 6-4, 6-4.
Brown's Mladen Mitak came away with a 6-3, 6-4 win vs. sophomore Vlad Kramarov at No. 4 singles. Brown finished the match at No. 5 as Tan defeated junior Coleman Wahlborg, 7-6, 6-3 in straight singles at No. 5.
The Cajuns will return to action this Sunday, April 3 for a doubleheader beginning at noon with Xavier (La.) at Cajun Courts.
