Men's Tennis Sweeps Doubleheader at Jackson State

JACKSON, Miss. -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team picked up a pair of 6-1 wins over Jackson State on Saturday afternoon.
The two victories improved the Cajuns to 13-9 this season. Louisiana has won four of their past five matches overall.
"In my first match, I managed to find a way to take the second and third sets after going down a set quickly," junior Will Huyton said. "Great confidence boost when you can find a way when you're not playing your best tennis."
In the afternoon's first match, the UL duo of junior Eric Perez and senior Edgar Lopez defeated Richie Agarwal and Federico Mendieta Rulz, 6-1 at No. 1. At the No. 3 spot, sophomore Vlad Kramarov and freshman Michael Kritzinger eliminated Jackson State's Ryan Swanier and Styliouos Guontsaris, 6-2 to take the doubles point.
The Cajuns took the first five singles matches, losing only the sixth and final singles point. Perez beat Vishu Prasad, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 and Lopez defeated Federico Boscarino, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1.
Kramarov prevailed, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3, while junior Coleman Wahlborg won his match at No. 4 over Guontsaris, 6-2, 6-4. Huyton took care of business at No. 2, winning, 0-6, 7-5, 10-7 over Camilo Patino.
In the second match of the twinbill, the Cajuns again swept doubles as Wahlborg and Huyton beat Swanier and Guontsaris, 6-2 at No. 2. The Cajuns finished off doubles at No. 1 as Lopez and Perez teamed to defeat Camilo Pationo and Boscariono, 6-1.
Huyton defeated Guontsaris, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, while Kramarov beat Miguel Gomez Martin, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3. Perez defeated Federico Mendieta Ruiz, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5.
At No. 4. Wahlborg defeated Agarwal, 6-2, 6-1 in straight sets, while Prasad defeated Kritzinger, 6-1, 6-3 in straight sets at No. 6.
The Cajuns ended the afternoon with a 6-3, 7-6 win from Lopez over Patino at the No. 1 spot.
"I won some good matches today against tough players," Lopez said. "It helps to raise my confidence going into Brown on Tuesday.
"I trust my shots right now, so I just need to keep them on point and keep working on my speed."
The Cajuns return to action Monday, March 28 for a 3 p.m. first serve against Brown University at Cajun Courts.
