LAFAYETTE, La. – The 29th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team is set to continue conference action this weekend as the squad faces Georgia State in a three-game series at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field starting Thursday at 6 p.m. The series was moved up a day due to the Easter holiday.

The Cajuns and Panthers will meet again on Friday at 6 p.m. before closing out the series on Saturday with an 11 a.m. first pitch.

Saturday's contest will be broadcast live on myAcadianaTV and ESPN3.com. All three games can be heard live on News Talk 96.5 KPEL-FM with Jay Walker making the call. Live stats and video are available on RaginCajuns.com.

The Ragin' Cajuns (12-9, 3-3 Sun Belt) have lost three straight games coming into the series. Louisiana dropped the final two games of the Little Rock series 10-5 and 7-1 before falling 8-5 to tenth-ranked LSU in the Wally Pontiff Jr. Classic on Tuesday.

The Cajuns will change up the rotation this weekend due to the early start for the series with sophomore right-hander Wyatt Marks (2-2, 5.48 ERA) taking the mound on Thursday night. Sophomore left-hander Gunner Leger (2-1, 1.52 ERA) will make the start Friday night. Nick Lee (3-1, 3.58) is slated to make the start for Louisiana in the series finale.

Joe Robbins is one of four Cajuns hitting .300 or better on the season as he leads the squad in average (.351), runs (19), triples (3), home runs (5) and RBI (16).

As a team, the Ragin' Cajuns are hitting .280 with 36 doubles, six triples and 15 home runs. Louisiana is averaging 5.4 runs per game and has posted eight double-digit hit performances.

The Cajuns own a 5-1 all-time series edge over Georgia State with the first meeting coming in 2014 when Louisiana swept the Panthers at The Tigue. A year ago, the Ragin' Cajuns took two of three contests from GSU on the road falling in the opener 7-6 before coming back to win the weekend with a pair of victories.

Georgia State (12-9, 2-1 Sun Belt) has won three straight contests coming into the series. The Panthers bounced back to take the final two games of the Arkansas State series 5-4 and 14-6 after falling in the opener 11-1.

GSU got a walk-off winner against Savannah State on Tuesday night winning 4-1 in 10 innings. The Panthers have played five extra innings games this season.

The series at The Tigue marks the first game played outside of the Atlanta, Ga. metro area for Georgia State and only the second game of the season played away from the GSU Baseball Complex.
Left-hander Wayne Wages (1-2, 6.64 ERA) will make the start in the opener on Thursday for the Panthers. GSU will counter with right-hander Marc-Andre Haback (1-0, 2.31 ERA) on Friday before sending Bryan White (1-0, 4.22 ERA) to the bump Saturday to close out the weekend.

The Panthers are hitting .296 with 45 doubles, three triples and 13 home runs as a team. GSU is averaging 7.5 runs per game.

Jarrett Hood paces the squad hitting .434 with 12 doubles, a home run and 21 RBI. His 21 RBI ranks third in the Sun Belt behind Ryan Scott of Little Rock (25) and Danny Martinez of South Alabama (22).
