Cajuns Tennis Completes 4-0 Sweep Over Stetson

LAFAYETTE -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team cruised to a 4-0 victory over visiting Stetson on Tuesday afternoon at Cajun Courts.Â
The victory was the second in a row for the Ragin' Cajuns, who improved to 7-6 this spring.Â
"This was a fun match for the guys - we really enjoyed this one," Ragin' Cajuns head coach Mark Jeffrey said. "The guys' process was very good today. Edgar Lopez and Arthur [Libaud] did a great job at the top of the lineup. They really got it going. It was a great team effort. I was happy for Jake [Wynan]Â and Coleman [Wahlborg] who also played well."
In doubles, junior Will Huyton and freshman Arthur Libaud came away with a perfect 6-0 victory over Graham Ball and Gonzalo Arroyo at No. 3. Lopez and junior Eric Perez completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 win over Simon Julin and Coilin MacNamara at the No. 2 spot.
In singles, Libaud picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win over Pierre Fossier at the No. 2 position. Lopez eliminated Loic Blanco, 6-3, 6-3 in straight sets from the No. 1 spot, while Wahlborg ended the afteroon with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Gonzalo Arroyo at No. 6.Â
Libaud improved to a team-best 7-4 in singles while Lopez's singles record stands at 6-2 after Tuesday's action. Lopez and Perez saw their doubles record move to 8-5 with their win.Â
The Cajuns go for their third straight win at the HEB Tournament of Champions from the campus of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on March 3 and 4.Â
