LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns (18-7, 11-5 SBC) wrap up their 2015-16 regular season road slate this Saturday, Feb. 27 at South Alabama. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. at the Mitchell Center.

Senior guard Kia Wilridge currently has 1,175 career points, 17 shy of tying Alyson Habetz for sixth all-time on the Cajuns scoring list.

Setting the Scene: The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns (18-8, 11-6 SBC) wrap up their four-game road trip and their regular season road slate at South Alabama this Saturday, Feb. 27. The Cajuns go for the season sweep over South Alabama for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

The Cajuns won the season's first meeting with the Jaguars back on Jan. 21. Louisiana (13-3, 6-1 SBC) had 10 players enter the scoring column, led by a team-high 14 points from junior Jaylyn Gordon. The Cajuns received 20 points from their bench (six apiece from Simone Fields and Adrienne Prejean).

The Jaguars are coming off a 67-54 loss at home vs. ULM this past Thursday. They have won five of their past six games at home. Marquita Daniels paces the offense with 10.9 points per contest and leads the Jaguars with 47 steals.

Cajuns senior guard Keke Veal raised her scoring average to 16.6 per game after her 34-point performance at Troy this past Thursday. Fellow senior guard Kia Wilridge has dealt out a team-leading 74 assists. The Cajuns come into Saturday two games behind Little Rock in the Sun Belt Conference standings. They currently hold a two-game lead over South Alabama who sits in fourth place behind UL with a 9-8 conference mark.

Coach Brodhead at the Helm: Louisiana head coach Garry Brodhead is in his fourth season at the helm of the Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball program, finishing with 23 wins last season, the most in a single season since 2006-07 (25). Brodhead guided the team to 15 victories at home in 2014-15, a program record. He passed Ross Cook (57) to move into sole possession of second place on the program's all-time wins list with his 58th victory on January 14. With 65 career wins, Brodhead trails only J. Kelley Hall (86) for the most wins by a coach in Ragin' Cajuns history.

Road Success: The Ragin' Cajuns are one of four Sun Belt Conference schools with a winning record on the road this season (6-5). Arkansas State (11-3), UT Arlington (8-6) and Little Rock (7-6) are the others.

Cajuns Defense Remains Strong: The Cajuns have maintained one of the best scoring defenses throughout this season and continue to carry that strength into this week. Louisiana is third in defensive scoring in the conference, holding opponents to 56.2 points per game.

Wilridge's Career Points Chase: Wilridge comes into Saturday's game with 1,175 career points. She needs 18 to pass Alyson Habetz for sixth-most in program history.

Veal Climbing Steals Column: Senior guard Keke Veal comes into Saturday with 245 career steals and is 17 away from passing Lisa Merritt and moving into sole possession of second place on the Cajuns' all-time list.

Veal's Career Assists: Veal owns 260 career assists and needs two more helpers to pass Alicia McDaniel for sixth all-time in Cajuns history.

Catching Fire From Three: In Thursday's loss at Troy, the Cajuns hit eight three-pointers, the most since Jan. 7 at Little Rock when they made 9 treys. In the last six games prior to Thursday, the Cajuns made just six shots from beyond the three-point line.
