Ragin' Cajuns greats Lamar, Figaro, Townsend to serve as honorary captains

LAFAYETTE – After recording a record-breaking performance in its last game on Thursday, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team returns to action on Monday when it faces Delaware State at Blackham Coliseum
 
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST. The game can be heard in the Lafayette area on KHXT-FM 107.9 and ESPN 1420 AM, and worldwide on RadioPup. Live video and live statistics are available at RaginCajuns.com.
 
Louisiana (1-2) will recognize former Ragin' Cajuns greats Dwight "Bo" Lamar, Payton Townsend and Kevin Figaro as honorary captains before the game, with the trio available for autographs during halftime.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns return to the court after a 117-47 win over Division II Panhandle (Okla.) State on Thursday as the 70-point margin of victory was the biggest in school history. Bryce Washington recorded his second double-double of the season, scoring a game-high 20 points and pulling down 13 rebounds, as he led five players in double figures.
 
Freshman Roydell Brown scored 15 points off the bench for Louisiana with Frank Bartley adding 12 points, Johnathan Stove 11 and Larenz Stalcup 10.
 
Washington is currently averaging 16.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game to lead the Ragin' Cajuns with Bartley averaging 14.3 points and freshman Justin Miller 13.7. Johnathan Stove (5.0 rebounds), Jerekius Davis (5.0) and Scott Plaisance (4.0) follow Washington in the rebounding column for Louisiana with Jay Wright (3.0), Bartley (2.0) and freshman Kadavion Evans (2.0) leading the team in assists.
 
Delaware State (1-2) has dropped its last two games after posting a 103-56 win over Division III Clarks Summit (Pa.) on Nov. 11. The Hornets dropped a 74-61 contest to Texas Southern before falling to UMBC, 90-68, last Wednesday.
 
DeAndre Haywood (18.0) and Kavon Waller (12.7) are the top scorers for Delaware State with DeVaughn Mallory pulling down a team-high 6.3 rebounds.
 
The game against Delaware State is part of the six-team Hardwood Showcase that is being played at campus sites through Nov. 27. Louisiana is joined in the event by Montana State, Delaware State, James Madison, Texas Southern and Rice.
