Fields Named Sun Belt Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns junior forward Simone Fields was named the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week in a release by the conference office on Tuesday.
Fields led Louisiana (1-0) with a double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds to help the Ragin' Cajuns to a 77-70 win over McNeese in the season opener for both teams. Fields shot 11-18 from the floor and was a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.
The San Antonio, Texas native also had two steals and one assist in the Cajuns come from behind win on the road. Fields is currently first in the Sun Belt Conference in points per game (28) and second in total rebounds per game (13).
The Ragin' Cajuns will return to action when they host Dillard (La.) in an exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m.
